In an effort to help you to become more familiar with our church leadership we have included another interview this week. But first, let me alert you to a need and opportunity at St. John’s. We have a dear sister in the church that needs a place to stay temporarily, at least for a few months while she seeks something permanent. The church has looked into some options that have not panned out so we are turning to you as the body. She can offer a moderate amount but the details would obviously need to be discussed so it works for both parties. If you would like to discuss this further please contact our Administrative Assistant Traci DeBoer.
Interview with Ruling Elder Chris Sharp:
What do you enjoy about St. John’s PCA?
Number 1 is our pastor who truly has the heart of a shepherd. St John’s is so blessed to have a loving pastor who also faithfully expounds the word of God in all of its fullness. Number 2 is the fellowship at St. John’s. Multi-generational churches with such warm fellowship are not a given in our culture. St John’s is truly blessed!
What are you looking forward to in the life of the church in the next year?
Watching our young married group continue to grow together and to see how and where they serve the body will be exciting. We have a front row seat as hosts for their small group studies and I believe God is doing something special with this group of sweet, young families and the future of St John’s.
What are you looking forward to in your personal life within the next year?
Lisa and I are eagerly anticipating the birth of our first grandchild (Delaney and Tucker are expecting) and Ella’s senior year. We also hope to take a family trip next summer.
Do you have a word of encouragement or challenge for our church body?
I wish I could bottle the selfless love and concern I have seen expressed in my short time as an elder here. The fingerprints of our Lord behind the scenes have been amazing in several situations where the world offers no hope. It has strengthened my faith to see Him undeniably at work. Know that this is a place where God is at work! And although imperfectly at times, also know that you are loved at St. John’s. Your elders and deacons here want to help in any way possible. And many, many of your lay brothers and sisters are willing to help as well. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us so we can serve you and make a connection.
5. How can we (as your church) best be praying for you?
Pray for spiritual protection, discernment, vision and the love of Jesus for all of our officers. Christ’s power and strength is our only hope to serve in a way that honors Him.

Finally, we are considering opening up a new home group in Winter Garden. It’s only a half-mile off of Plant Street before entering Downtown Winter Garden heading west. We are envisioning this group would meet at least every two weeks but it will be up to the host and those interested to determine. This new group will be led by Pastor Isaias. If you are interested or have questions please contact him. Thank you.
Blessings,
Pastor Frank
